Surfing the Web Looking for an Analytical Paper Example

When you are writing a paper you will likely come across styles and requirements that are new. For example: you may have written a handful of five paragraph essays and a few descriptive essays but you may not have written an analytical paper.

When you are unfamiliar with the type of paper required of you it can be daunting. Getting started seems impossible because you do not know where to start. That is why it is imperative that you familiarize yourself with the writing required of you before you start. You wouldn’t start playing a game if you didn’t know the rules nor would you start baking if you didn’t know the recipe. So don’t start writing if you don’t know the rules.

The best way to find out the writing rules for an analytical paper is to review samples of analytical essays. Sometimes your teacher will provide the class with an essay sample with the instructions or assignment details. Sometimes they won’t. If you fall into the category of “they won’t” then it is up to you to find an analytical paper example yourself. But how can you do this?

  1. Surf the web for an analytical paper example.

The internet is a hot bed of activity for students. It offers some of the most comprehensive resources. Of course it is up to you to verify which resources are reliable. It is best to stick with websites that end in “.edu” because they are academically sponsored sites. These might be made up of school web pages or library pages or a government run academic website. On these sites you can find information on how to write an analytical paper and you can find examples. Example papers is a great resource because they give you a visual representation of how your paper should come out when all is said and done. Some students learn better by seeing where the different sections are placed or watching a tutorial video on how to write the paper. These examples can all be found online.

  2. Look to your school library for an analytical paper example.

Your school library most likely houses many writing guides (which can also be found online). These writing guides are the perfect way to familiarize yourself with the type of writing required of you. You can review sample papers as you review each step in the writing process.
